Market Intelligence

As its leading provider of qualitative Market Intelligence, we help the active leisure sector to really understand its market place in terms of users, non-users and b2b, business to business, clients. We work strategically with the key players such as FIA, sporta and CLOA to help the sector attract more customers, get communities more active and improve services delivered both to end users and b2b.

With our partners we have developed a range of key industry surveys carried out on a regular basis covering the key aspects of the active leisure sector. These include:

Fitness Industry Confidence Survey (FICS)

The second FICS Report is now available to download below. Please note that reports are only available to Senior Managers in the sector who are accepted for the FICS Panel and then complete the survey which will be carried out on a quarterly basis. To register for the Panel click here

PPC

Leisure-net Solutions produces a monthly Price and Promotions Comparison (PPC) report to monitor promotions, campaigns and membership costs at health clubs and leisure centres across the country.

The PPC report, which was launched in February 2010, is a quarterly service that will monitor private, local authority and leisure trust sites to analyse the sector's key sales drivers and help operators target their marketing plans more effectively.

Leisure-net's researchers will telephone a minimum of 30 sites each month to find out current membership costs, administration fees and relevant promotions.

Reports to date

The latest complimentary national report for January is available to download here.

HAFOS

HAFOS

The HAFOS (Health and Fitness Omnibus Survey) has now been carried out by Leisure-net for 8 years, and continues to be the only regular industry barometer of UK consumers’ attitudes and perceptions towards, health, activity and the active leisure sector.

HAFOS is a street based consumer survey carried out with a national sample of between 1,500 and 2,000 interviews. To date, HAFOS has interviewed well over 14,000 people.

The core questions focus around the Activity Agenda including:

  • How people undertake their current activity
  • How we can help them increase their current levels
  • To what extent people are aware of the recommended levels/guidelines for physical activity

HAFOS is supported by councils and trusts across the country, and we extend our thanks to them. We are always pleased to hear from people interested in supporting HAFOS. We are also grateful to the various organisations who continue to support the HAFOS series, notably the FIA, SIBEC, CLOA and sporta.
