Confidence Survey Giving ‘View From The Top’ About to be Launched

Leisure-net Solutions is about to launch its new industry confidence survey, the Fitness Industry Survey (FICS),backed by the FIA and sponsored by LIW, to give a ‘view from the top’ on how the sector is faring.

The Top 100 Health and Fitness confidence Survey, which will launched in early July, will act as an industry barometer in terms of confidence, trends and perceptions.  The qualitative survey will take place online each quarter and will target senior managers from both the public and private sectors, asking them to look back over the last three months and forward over the next quarter, while reflecting on the industry’s confidence, major challenges it faces, awareness and attitudes towards government initiatives and investments trends.  The results will be analysed and interpreted by veteran industry observer Tim Webster.

Mike Hill, Managing Director of the customer insight and business intelligence specialist Leisure-net Solutions said:  “A unique selection of the health and fitness sector’s top people will be invited to complete a short online survey each quarter.  The headline results will be released to the entire sector, while all ‘FICS members’ will be given a full copy of the survey report. Members of the group will also be given regular access to other industry intelligence.”

Welcoming the new survey, the FIA’s Executive Director, Dave Stalker said:  “Anything that improves our understanding of the sector is a positive step.  During this time of challenges and rapid changes it’s particularly important that we listen and learn from the thoughts and experiences of senior people within our industry.”

LIW will be sponsoring the Top 100 survey throughout 2010. Johnny Sullens, LIW’s Portfolio Director said:  “We believe this new initiative will improve the sector’s understanding of its key challenges and act as a valuable tool in marking the changes that the health and fitness industry experiences throughout the year."
